Root canal therapy (endodontic therapy)
Endodontic therapy i.e. a dental procedure of removing infected pulp from a tooth is generally feared by the patients in our country. However it can be completed during one visit to our office that saves the patients time and anxiety. It is completely painless because we use very effective anesthesia.
It is worth mentioning that Piotr Wesoly DDS, the dentist that performs the procedure, is a member of Polish Endodontic Society and Polish Association of Microscopy Dentist and has completed a number of post-graduate courses in this particular branch of dentistry.
Root canal therapy is necessary when irreversible damage to the tooth pulp has occurred due to a number of reasons: tooth decay, injuries etc. There is only one treatment to this and that is removing infected pulp and cleaning out the bacteria, toxins, nerve tissue and related debris to prevent the further spread of infection. In order to do it thoroughly and effectively we need specialized equipment.
First to determine the length of the tooth root canal which is the most essential part of the therapy we use an endometer (an electronic device -RAYPEX 5-VDV). Then a dental microscope LEICA M300 and an endodontic micromotor END IT VDW help the dentist to work on the tooth preparation. Eventually we use an instrument (Hot Plunger Thermique) that heats up the inert filler so that it could reach all nooks and curves of the root cavity and cap it properly. The dentists full control of the procedure is granted by high-tech dental radiographic equipment (RVG Planmeca, Digora Soredex).
We also deal with more complicated endodontic procedures that cannot be performed with a microscope such as accessing obliterated root canals, searching for extra canals, removing broken instruments from inside a root canal.
